Electric Motorcycles:Which Electric Powered Motorbike is Best for You?What! Electric Motorcycles! Dedicated petrolhead bikers may need to look away now. As part of my search for the right all-electric vehicles for me and my family I'm going to have a look at All-Electric Motorcycles. I'm prepared to be surprised! So the questions are: - What (if any) Electric Motorcycles are on the market at the moment? - What should I look for in an Electric Motorcycle to decide if it is the right one for me? - And finally, what's the best choice for me (not for my family - I can't see any of them getting onto an Electric Harley)? Of course, there are lots of performance, technical and visual differences between motorcycles and scooters/mopeds – but I guess from an Electric Point of View, the main question is really about PERFORMANCE! - Can the machine go a good distance e.g. greater than 60 miles on a single charge? - Is it capable of holding it’s own – based on acceleration and top speed – on the highway or motorway? I feel that if a Motorbike has two of these characteristics – and has a good Motorbike look about it – then it qualifies as an Electric Motorbike – as opposed to "only" being a scooter. Oh, and one last thing ... how about being available NOW as opposed to 3 years from NOW! 
First off – here’s an example of one that certainly has the eye candy - the Lectra VR24. The thing is, when you look at the specs., it ONLY has a RANGE OF 35 MILES and a top speed of 45MPH!!! See what we’re up against! So that’s one down the hatch. Will we ever find a real Electric Motorbike?? Let’s keep looking. 
So How about this one?.... Well the only way you're going to get on a bike like this is if you build one yourself or
decide to go professional with your racing!
This is the Moto Czysz E1pc which took part in and won the 2010 Isle of Man TT Zero, which is a electric motorbike race on the famous Isle of Man.
